Humility Goes a Long Way

Humility Goes a Long Way

“But, Dad, they’re the leader. They shouldn’t have to apologize. “

This attitude holds true for my kids…and many other kids as well.

“Dad, you’re so lucky, no one is ever tells you what to do.”

“Dad, you have life so easy. You always do whatever you want.”

The other day I put an article out to the general public. The final draft was created in the evening. I was tired and brain dead.  With multiple, unknown errors, I sent it.

After reading it again the next day (and after a good night’s rest), I swallowed my pride and went directly to our team to apologize. I mentioned that I represent each of them, every day. Simply put, I’m sorry I did such an unsatisfactory job and promised to do better in the future.

When presented with authenticity, a leaders response to these experiences will most certainly motivate and energize a team of people (or family).

It’s what we TEACH at camp.

Shout Out to You! Enjoy the week!
